Massage Therapy

What is massage?
The most immediate response to an injury is to rub it - self massage. This action brings blood and warmth to the area and allows the body to begin the healing process.
A massage treatment is simply an extension of this, with the therapist being able to apply the right pressure in the right area and at the correct depth. The pressure of the massage depends on the reason for the massage i.e. relaxation would require a lighter touch than trigger-point massage on a sports person.

Hot Stone Therapy
Using hot basalt stones during massage brings heat directly to areas that need it and enables a deeper massage with more ease. Ideal for severe muscle tension.

Reflexology
By manually working corresponding areas on the foot, the therapist locates blocks in the energy flow around the body and helps the body to heal itself. Can be useful in helping such conditions as constipation, sinusitis and infertility. Reflexology can also be combined with Hot Stones.

Deep Tissue Sports Massage
Invaluable for increasing mobility and enhancing physical performance. It can also be used to aid recoverey from an injury, or as a preventative measure.

Aromatherapy
Can be used to help a number of complaints including stress, insomnia, post-natal-depression and fatigue.

Mum's body has to go through a lot of changes while the baby grows and develops. The good news is that a women's body is designed to cope with all the change and pregnancy is a normal process not an illness.
