Massage Therapy

What is massage?
The most immediate response to an injury is to rub it - self massage. This action brings blood and warmth to the area and allows the body to begin the healing process.
A massage treatment is simply an extension of this, with the therapist being able to apply the right pressure in the right area and at the correct depth. The pressure of the massage depends on the reason for the massage i.e. relaxation would require a lighter touch than trigger-point massage on a sports person.

Hot Stone Therapy
Using hot basalt stones during massage brings heat directly to areas that need it and enables a deeper massage with more ease. Ideal for severe muscle tension.

Deep Tissue Sports Massage

Nutrition - Coming to Park Practice in June

The food we eat can have a significant effect on every aspect of our lives. Making adjustments to your nutrition and lifestyle can make a big difference to the way you feel and your health.

If you suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, evidence is showing the relatively new FODMAP diet can significantly improve symptoms in 75% of people. Studies show that reducing weight by 5-10% can cut risks of heart disease, diabetes and stroke and reduce blood pressure and cholesterol.

So whether you want to improve your energy, take control of your weight, improve your performance in sport or have a specific health concern, a consultation with a registered dietitian could benefit you.

Each consultation is tailed to your specific needs, to suite your lifestyle and to help you make achievable changes.

Dietary analysis is also available where your diet is nutritionally analysed, this is useful to check for vitamin or mineral deficiency, carbohydrates and protein intake for sport or for assessing overall energy intake or weight gain or loss.

So whether it's for a specific reason, or just to help stay fit and healthy, a dietitian can be beneficial to everyone.
